Catherine McVeigh Cassidy's son William Bernard married Catherine Slane (b ca 1828) born to Michael Slane and Alice Doherty. Michael Slane and Alice Doherty evidently had at least 11 children, the youngest 6 emigrating to USA: Peter (born Jan 1816), Michael (May 1820), Francis (Aug 1824), Alice (ca 1827), Catherine (ca June 1828), & Terence (Sept 1830). Left behind were the oldest: Ann, James, John, Joseph, Sarah.
