Good morning,
I am assisting friends who are visiting Ireland this summer. We are looking for information on ancestors in Donegal, particularly Arranmore Island. The ancestor who left Ireland was Charles Gallagher, born 1814. He married Catherine O'Donnell, born in 1812, and possibly had some of their children while still in Ireland. He never returned. We beleive one of those children was Bernard born in 1849.
Your efforts are most appreciated in finding what you can about any siblings of Bernard, Charlles, and Caroline.
Best Regards,
Colleen O'Gorman

Hi Colleen!
Welcome back to Ireland Reaching Out!
The RC parish today would be Burtonport/Kinclassagh https://www.raphoediocese.ie/component/diocesandatabase/?task=group&cid… If you hit the "click here for more details" Tab, you will see that records start very late 1886/1887 so there would be no Church records available for Charles, Catherine and Bernard. I assume the family emigrated around 1850?
I would suggest that you add a story of Charles and Catherine to our XO Chronicles site and possibly someone will see a connection.

Your friends may also want to consider DNA testing. They won't get results before they travel but later they may identify some Gallagher/O'Donnell connections.
