  • Judy,

You do not indicate the source of this baptism.

Charter schools were found by the Chartered Society in 1733 for the purpose of educating poor Roman Catholic children in the Protestant (Anglican) Religion in Ireland.

The school in Rahoon was apparently used later by the British Army.

Google "History of Ireland" where you will get more detailed information.

  • Did you manage to find any useful information on Google or other resources? In fact, it turns out that similar sites, archives, and records from schools, and other educational or state institutions can tell such a long and deep history to almost every family. I recently had to write an assignment on how to do this kind of research using archival information. Of course, I had no idea how to do it. Therefore, I decided to look for an overview of student services on ResellerRatings. And I found a great legal Edubirdie service review on https://www.resellerratings.com/store/Edubirdie_com if you are a student, you must have heard about it. My student friends were very surprised that I did not know about it before. So, what I am trying to say, in the text I received from the Edubirdie, there was a detailed description of the procedures and a list of useful links (on similar sites and archives). I became curious, so I decided to do my own research on my family. Let's see what comes out of this.
