Hi
I have spent many unsuccessful years trying to identify the ancestry of William Aldworth Clarke, born ca 1792. Indications are that he was from Cork City but this is not confirmed. DNA has now confirmed that William was descended from an old Quaker family from Grange, Antrim. I have traced one branch of this family to Youghal with several references to them also in Cork City, so I suspect this may be the family I am looking for. Is anyone tracing Clarkes from the area around Youghal in particular? The patriarch of the Youghal line was a Gabriel Clarke who died in 1737 in Youghal. The Quaker records on FindMyPast have been helpful but I am still searching for a missing link between William Aldworth Clarke and Gabriel Clarke.

Hi, I also have Quakers in Youghal - my family were by the name of Jackson - they came to Ireland in 1650's due to persecution in England.
I have found Ireland, Casey Collection Indexes, 1545-1960 on Ancestry to be the most beneficial when searching for them in Youghal
