Hello,
I know this is a long shot, but I am searching my Cleary/Clary family who came from Ireland to Lockport NY. My ancestor Michael Cleary/Clary was born about 1820 in Ireland, and was married to a woman named Mary Mountain. They had two sons Thomas and Michael both born in Lockport NY, the first son being born in 1851 in Lockport. Mary passes away and Michael marries a woman named Ellen Connolly born about 1834 in Ireland possibly to Jeremiah Connolly and Mary Quinn. She has a sister Mary born 1813 who marries Cornelius Sullivan in Freemount Ireland. They later move to Lockport NY as well.
Any insight on how to research this family further would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you for your thoughts and time.

Hi Margot,
Thank you for your response. I have found a Mary Connolly marrying a Cornelius Sullivan in December of 1837 in Fremont Cork who I think could possibly be Mary, the sister I mentioned in my original post. Yes they were catholic. Do you have any connection or insight on this family? I believe she could be the sister of my ancestor. I would love to find out more about my Ellen Connolly and her family.
Thank you again for your response and interest.
