Looking for records of John Collins and Eliza Toal, lived in Clones, then in Lisnaroe from 1871 to 1899. Unable to find marriage record (suspect 1866) or birth records of either. Children found were William, Patrick, Edward, Mary Jane and Joseph. Believe there may have been a son, John, also. Planned trip to Monaghan for early September. Any suggestions for searches would be appreciated.

As to your trip to Clones, I would recommend that you visit the Clones Library and in particular, the Local History section there. The librarians are familiar with the Ireland Reaching Out programme and they will be able to assist you. The link is here: https://monaghan.ie/library/clones/
Kind regards,

Thank you for these records. Perhaps I should have mentioned that I did find these before, also for a Mary Jane Collins from 1879. It seems the parents lived in Clones for Williams birth, then moved to Lisnaroe for the others. I have a record of Edwards death in 1895, 6 years after Eliza, both of them from tuberculosis, I believe. John died in 1899, with his son John by his side. This John I haven’t found any record of. Also no record of John and Eliza’s marriage, although there is a church record from 1866 in Armagh for a John Collins and Elizabeth Tool. (?) Not sure if Clingowny/a is near Lisnaroe. Thank you for the Clones Library suggestion, also. I will definitely follow up on that.
