Walter Corcoran was born somewhere around 1811 somewhere in County Mayo. At 43 he married Bridget Connelly (20) in Galway. Is there any information about his forebears?

With due respect I think you have the wrong Walter Corcoran or the wrong marriage, or I have the wrong birth place. The Walter Corcoran that I have was born about 1811 in Castlegar, Carrabrown, Co. Galway. He married Bridget Connolly/Connelly (born about 1831 and baptised 02 Jun 1831, Castlegar, Carrabrown, Co. Galway) on 27 Feb 1854 at Castelgar, Co. Galway. Walter died 30 Nov 1871 at Castlegar. Bridget with her seven living children sailed on the 'Corona' for New Zealand on 2 Nov 1875 from Gravesend and disembarked at Port Chalmers (Port Otago), Dunedin on 06 Feb 1876. Bridget died at Riversdale, Southland, New Zealand on 21 Feb 1898 and is buried in the cemetery at Gore, Southland.

Hi Frank.
This is the man I am looking for. Thank you so much for all that information. So Co. Mayo doesn't enter the picture?? - all in Galway.

HI Frank,
Where would the best place be for me to try and find the parents of both Walter Corcoran and Bridget Connelly?
