Alexander and William Henry settled first for about 15 years in Pennsylvania,,, then they immigrated to Niagara Fall area, Ontario Canada... thus serving in a militia unit in the war of 1812 .....any help appreciated... looking for any family history information as who were their parents and county in ireland where any of the Corscaddens/Cascaddens lived....Thankyou...Cheryl

  • Hi Cheryl,

I searched baptisms/births on www.rootsireland.ie/ for Cascaddens and only got 2 matches:

Catherine 1805 and Maggie 1895 both in Donegal

There are 212 Corscadden baptisms/births in Donegal but only 2 around 1773: Margaret in 1775 & Robert 1777 both in Antrim

Corscadden: there are 2 Alexanders & 3 James but no Hugh born 1770 + - 20 years in Donegal.

Unfortunately it costs to view the full records on rootsireland but you need to do in order to get the parents' names.

The Tithe Applotments which are free to search have 2 Corscaddens - Richard and Andrew - in Donegal in 1825.
