Mary molloy? OR mallrowney born in ireland in1847 married Patrick mcgrail in 1870.she had a daughter mary anne known as mary durkin born 1870/1871.Patrick Mcgrail was born in 1831. Mary and patrick had five children that I .think survived them. The children of Patrick and mary were, Michael William 1870 Anne 1873 Thomas 1875 Bridget 1879 Ellen 1880. They were all born in Ireland County Mayo. Anne Mcgrail was my great  grandmother she married Patrick Mulrenin Mulrenil Mulremil there seems to be variations of the spelling of mulrenin also of mcgrail. Patrick Mulremil was roman catholic born 1872 in Mayo. he married Anne Mcgrail in1894 he died in england in 1900. Please can anyone help with any information and perhaps be able  to name the parish. Thank you.

    Thank you very much for your message.

    As Mary and Patrick were married and had their children after 1864 there will be records of them in civil records as civil registration began in Ireland in this year. If you can get these records it will hopefully give you a parish name or at least the name of the nearest big town. Civil records are available from the General Register?s Office.     You can search the indexes to these records up to 1958 online at:

    Once you know the name of the parish you can then join the parish page and post your message there. Hopefully one of our volunteers will then be able to assist or advise you further.
