It was said often that the Croak family who own Croak's Cigar Store on the corner of So. 4th St. and 11th Ave., Clinton, Clinton co., Iowa, were from Lower Ballingarry Road. Croak's Cigar was across from the railroad depot. This family lived next to my O'brien people in both Ballingarry and in Clinton. We have no indication of actually being related. In Clinton, they would have all belonged to St. Mary's Parish. This might help someone looking for Croke in Ballingarry or Iowa.
