Sometimes they followed the Irish naming pattern when naming their children which might help you eliminate some of the above

First son named after father's father; second after mother's father; first daughter after mother's mother second daughter after father's mother;

As ColCaff stated above, there are a number of possibilities for you and I would advise that before you arrive for the Crowley reunion, you have as much information about your family done from the U.S, side.  Have you looked at their headstones?  Sometimes, a place is mentioned.  If there are siblings to any of these great-grandparents, they should also be researched, as one of them may have included more information in their records.  

I would also keep the DNA match with the location of Eyeries in mind as that may be a very good clue for your search for Crowleys, although you could be matching him on your other family lines.

from Thank you both for your kind replies! My cousin and I have been searching fervently to gather as much information as we can prior to our trip. I have seen headstones for O'Connor and Sullivan, no references to others. I have spoken with cemetary regarding John Crowley, no stone at all. Plot paid for by his church, unable to locate his exact spot, and I am unable to purchase him one. Margaret died place unknown, possibly during travel from Maine to Michigan  We have no siblings, only children  We will keep looking until we can find something  Have also been pursuing dna leads  My DNA all points to Munster, NW CORK, W Cork, SW Cork and NE Cork:)  Mystifying!  I thank you again for your assistance and will explore  these leads  Best Regards, Nancy

Thanks Jane. I am the original poster's (Nancy Bzura Foulk) 3rd cousin and traveling with her to Cork and Macroom in August for the Crowley Clan gathering in Macroom. Nancy descends from my great grandfather's (John Crowley b 1818) first wife Margaret O'Leary and I descend from his 2nd wife Ellen McCarthy born about 1834 somewhere in County Cork. Ellen (Hellen?) ends up in Detroit and marries my great grandfather in 1856.

Neither Ellen, John or John's first wife Margaret O'Leary seem to have come to the USA with any relatives as there isn't a group living together or traveling together from Maine to Michigan. It is hard to believe that there are no siblings to any of these persons. John and his 1st wife Margaret O'Leary have 2 daughters, the first being named Ellen and the 2nd named Mary. John and his 2nd wife have 2 children: John Eugene Crowley and Hanora Veronica Crowley both born in Detroit, Michigan. Might the middle names Eugene or Veronica be a clue????

My dna is centering around Macroom. My gedmatch kit #A855545, also my uncle on my Irish side has tested and his kit #A941210.

Nancy and I are so excited to travel to Cork and Macroom in a few short weeks! We know we will be close to our origins......just wish we knew more of exactly where in County Cork they originated. 

PS: John Crowley always is listed as a "laborer" in the USA. We are assuming that he worked in the lumbering business in and around Bangor Maine and why he came to Detroit is a mystery to us. Maybe he worked on the extension of the Erie Canal???? In Detroit he worked as a "laborer".  So I am thinking he was not from a farming family in Ireland?????
