I have a death cert for my 4xgtgm who died in Sct but seems she was born Ireland

Looking at the 1901 Irish census, there’s not a single Cuggins in the country. However there were about 100 Coggins. Mostly around Leitrim, Roscommon & Sligo. All RC.
Have you tried Scottish Poor Law records? If the family claimed under the Poor Law (as many did Irish people did) then their file usually records their parish of origin in Ireland, together with next of kin. The records for the Glasgow area are kept in the Mitchell Library, and they will do a look up for a small fee. See:

A claim when working isn’t very likely but how do you know they worked all the time? Perhaps they had some periods of unemployment, in which case they might have made a claim. Plenty did.
