David Cronin married Catherine Hartnett 1858 in Buttavent, Cork. They had 7 children. I was able to follow Catherine and the 7 children to Newton, MA, USA. I am looking for the birth and death of David as well as the brith of Catherine. They lived in Scart, Ballyclough, Cork. I think he is the son of Timothy Cronin and Elizabeth Barry who lived in Ballyclough, Cork. Any information on David and his family would be appreciated.

    Hi Ed

The only David Cronin I could find was born May 22,1835 to a James Cronin and Mary Walsh in Buttevant, Cork. Along with sister Eliza Cronin, born April 6, 1833. The only child I found for a Timothy Cronin and Eliza Barry was a John Cronin born May 14, 1837.

I also found a family tree for David (1835-1885) married to your Catherine, and listing only his first born Tim, born 1859. Is that your ancestry tree? Additionally I found a David Cronin recorded on October 30, 1883 listed in MA Vital Records, specifically Newtown.
Hope that helps some! Good Luck!!

  • Kelly: Thanks. My tree is private. Those are the dates for David that is in my tree but they are estimated. As of now I think that David is the son of Timothy Cronin and Elizabeth Barry. John Cronin that you refered to would be David's younger brother. The sons and daughters of Timothy and Elizabeth came to Newton, MA as well as David 's wife Catherine and his sons and daughters.
