I have a friend who has heard stories that her Irish relatives are from County Cork. The last name is Deneen and so the story goes lived in Deneen Castle. Have you ever heard of this castle? Thank you.

A quick google search will show you there is a Downeen Castle..now it is only a tower on a small island that was once joined to the mainland...just a few kilometers outside of Rosscarbery in west Cork. It doesn't look like anyone has lived there for centuries! Surname spellings do change over the years.
