Dennis is my grandfather, born in 1874. He moved to South Wales in about 1900, lived and died there in 1956. He married Margret Allen in 1906 and they had 8 children. His parents were Patrick Shea and Mary Brennan.

Are there any relatives in the area who may know any of these people?

I am coming to Ireland in August 2021 and would like to meet any family members.

Mike

That is a great picture of Denis. Could you add his story to our XO Chronicles site?   https://irelandxo.com/ireland-xo/history-and-genealogy

I believe this is your Patrick and Mary with two daughters in the 1901 census in Spunkane townland.

    http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1901/Kerry/Emlagh/Spunkane/…

I did not see Patrick and Mary in the 1911 census in Spunkane. Possibly they died between 1901-1911.

Unfortunately, there are many Patrick Shea and Mary Shea death records from 1901-1911 in the Caherciveen registration district.

I would search the free site www.irishgenealogy.ie for the death records.

I will alert our HQ regarding your planned trip.
