I descend from Edmund Keyes & Margaret Jones through their son Michael Keyes, born 1825 in Graigue. We will be visiting Ireland in early September and are wondering if there is anyone local who might be able to meet with us to answer questions or perhaps put us in contact with the current owner of Edmund’s land to ask for permission to walk around. We will be in the Kildorerry area on either September 4th or September 9th, depending on what works out.
Edmund Keyes & Margaret Jones (daughter of Michael Jones & Margaret Hannon) had 12 children and we have baptism records for 6 of them in Graigue. We have also identified the parcel of land where they lived in Graigue. We are hoping to visit the church, the land and any other relevant sites when we come.
Six of the 12 children died young in Ireland, the remaining family members emigrated to America in the mid- to late 1840’s. Here are the children of Edmund Keyes (abt 1786-abt 1855) & Margaret Jones (abt 1812-abt 1899):
Michael b 1825 - my 2x Great Grandfather - baptized 06 Feb 1825 (Sponsors Mathew Keefe and Joanna Conner)
Mary b abt 1827?

Many thanks for the replies! I have received a reply from Lena from Graigue, as well, and will be providing her with further information so she can hopefully assist us further. It looks like there is a reply mixed in above for someone doing Gorts family research. I believe this was in error and am only pointing it out in case the response did not reach the appropriate person. Thank you so much for taking the time to reach back out to me, we are so appreciative. - Mary Anne Keyes Lach

Hello Lena and Brenda,
I’m wondering if you think it would be possible to find baptism records for the remaining 6 children of Edmund Keyes & Margaret Jones. Graigue is in Cork, but near the border of Tipperary & Limerick Counties. Could they possibly have baptized the other children in another location? Any insight you can provide would be appreciated.
Many thanks,
Mary Anne Keyes Lach
