Desperately trying to contact Molloy relatives in Mullingar Westmeath

Trying to find out information about my daddy and his family from Westmeath.
Dad was put into care when he was born.
Dad was Laurence Molloy and he was born on 23rd Feb 1934 in the Rotunda Hospital Dublin.
He was taken into care straight away.

His mother was Annie Molloy born 23rd July 1905. Her mother was also Annie Molloy formerly Rafter and her father was John Molloy and he was a labourer.

Now in dads birth certificate ig states annie and John as the parents, but in fact we think that they were hid grandparents.
I traced Annie Molloy and found out that her parents were Annie and John with Annie's maiden name captured as Rafter.
With this in mind i can only conclude that Annie the daughter had dad out of wedlock and her parents put their names on the birth certificate so as to prevent any shame on baby Laurence.
