Hi

I'm researching my family ancestors of Michael Donohue who married Hanora Collins.

Michael Donoghue b. 1800 Limerick, Ireland         d. April 1855 Limerick, Ireland

Honora Collins b. 1810 Limerick, Ireland;            Baptism 4 Nov 1810 Knocklong & Glenbrohane, Limerick Ireland

                          d. 1855 Limerick Ireland

I would like to find specific details of when and where they married; what was Michael's occupation (I believe he was a farmer); where they lived specifically in Limerick - did they own pastoral land?   One day I hope to visit; and where they are buried.

His children migrated to Australia, I believe after 1855 where they all farmed pastoral lands.  They were:

Ann b. 1830;  Johanna b. 1835;   Margaret b. 1835;  Michael b. 1836; Catherine b. 1841

I do not know where they were baptised  and there is a big gap between Ann born 1830 and Johanna b. 1835.  Where there other children that died?

I would appreciate any assistance on where I can research and obtain these records.

Best wishes

Therese

I can give you a few records but it is very likely that there were two Michael Donoghue and Hanora Collins couples in Dromcolliher parish at that time. Dromcolliher/Broadford RC parish records start in early 1830  https://registers.nli.ie/parishes/0869

I searched the subscription site Roots Ireland and did not locate a marriage record. I found three baptismal records but the first two were four months apart which leads me to the conclusion that there were two Donoghue/Collins couples. Here is a link that will take you to the late 1834/early 1835 baptismal records on the parish register.

Honora Donoghue baptized September 10 1834 father Michael Donoghue mother Hanora Collins  Dromcoliher church witness Joanna Barry

Michael Donoghue baptized January 5 1835 father Michael Donoghue mother Hanora Collins Dromcoliher witnesses Cornelius Collins and Margaret Collins

Margaret Donoghue baptized March 5 1838 father Michael Donoghue mother Hana. Collins Dromcoliher church witnesses Philip McAuliffe and Maria Dennehy

I'm not sure why other records did not come up when I searched. You can try to scan the parish register.

Civil registration of deaths started in 1864. Some RC church maintained death data but Dromcolliher did not.

It is unlikely that there would be headstones for someone who died in 1855.

Here is some background on cemeteries.
