Hello!
I believe my Logan line connects with yours. John Logan who married Elizabeth Pharrell had a brother James who followed them to Ohio with his wife Jincy Hillis and their children including my 4th great grandmother Mary Logan who would have been about 10 years old at the time.
An article written by Dr John Logan's sister Margaret when she was about 80 years old outlines a bit about the family, but she doesn't say where the family was from, other than Co Monaghan.
I am looking for the following information:
1. The townland and/or parish the Logans (and Hillises) lived. The 1796 Flaxgrowers list shows several families of interest: Quite a few Hillises (Clontibret), including an Adam. A James Logan (Clontibret) and a William Logan (Aghabog). An Andrew Jamisson (Curren). And a couple of McCleans (Aghabob and Monaghan)
2. What happened to the family left behind.
3. a bit of history of the area over time.
4. what life was like in the area in the 18th century in particular.
From the piece written by Margaret Logan, John and James Logan had an older brother William who remained in Ireland.
