I'm wondering if the records covering 1837 to 1849 were available? They weren't around in 2014 so maybe they've made a reappearance since then?

I'm specifically looking for the birt of Mary Coll abt 1837 to Owen Coll & Eliza Lynch or A N Other.

Also birth of Catherine Coll abt 1845 to Owen Coll & Eliza Lynch or A N Other.

Also marriage of Own Coll to Eliza Lynch. NB that there maybe two marriages as two pairs wedded with same names.

    I checked the subscription site Roots Ireland and they show a gap in records for Dromin parish from 1837-1849 so I assume the records for that period are lost. I did find an 1851 marriage for an Owen Coll and Eliza Lynch in the neighboring RC parish of Rockhill plus two baptismal records for children but I assume that is the other couple that you mentioned in your message.

  • Thank you Roger. As so often the same names crop up so I always proceed with caution.
    It may well be that Owen Coll was married before & was a widower when he married Eliza Lynch.
    I was hoping that the parish records had reappeared and are yet to be digitised. I'm not sure if websites like Roots Ireland go back to parishes & regularly check if missing records are found.
    Is it possible to share contact details with me for the Dromin pp so I can check directly regarding the missing records situation?
