I am searching for the family in Ireland of my great great grandfather Robert Dyas who was born in Anna Sallymount about 1847.His father was James Dyas and he was a Gamekeeper.James married Susan Kellett and they had 10 children. James was also from Anna Westmeath. There is a pedigree discovered by Familysearch. And on online records the name Castle Pollard comes up often and also Old Castle..

Hi, I am looking at old queries, the only RObert Dyas I see with a father James was born in Athboy, Meath, mother Mary, no surname as is usual in Church of Ireland baptisms. The birth was 1848, 27th February but the baptism was the 9th of April, this is a hightime to pass as particularly among RC, not sure C of I but with infant mortality rates baptisms tended to be fairly prompt.
There is also an Isaac born 1849 and long wait to baptism, then in 1852 a Richard, baptised on the date of birth. All Athboy, Athboy is close to Delvin in Westmeath.
I think Anna maay be Annagh and there are two in Meath and one in Westmeath, many more around the country, see here civil parishes and townlands etc https://www.townlands.ie/
Not sure about Sallymount, there are a few in the country but none in our areas of interest. Castlepollard, Westmeath and Oldcastle, Meath are towns, no doubt there is a castle there somewhere.
THere is a James Dyas marrying a Mary Hopkins in 1845 in Meath again Athboy, he is a gentleman farmer, she is a minor you can see the civil marriage here https://www.irishgenealogy.ie/en/ Free site but sign in, not sure if this is your people, civil marriges for Protestants were registered from 1845, all else from 1864.
Is this your family,
Regards
Pat
