This maybe a long shot, I'm in the USA, in the town of Barryton, Mecosta co Michigan, I know of two , 1860's there was a man listed in the census of that year and place, born of Limerick, Ireland,  he also resided in Kent co, Grand Rapids Michigan with a family Ferster's, Edward and Lucy.  I have often wonder how or who he was /related to my John Eaton who came to the same location b NY after  the firs John rem to Kent co.  I ve not yet found him again. however I was , several years ago asked to send pictures of the old school house of Barryton, to show her grandmother Eaton, seems she was related to an Eaton who was blowen up in the exsplotion of the Erie canal.   The 2nd Eaton, would be the son/s of Gov Theophilus Eaton, first govener of New Haven Ct.  b Cheshire Eng. one son removed to Ireland on land owned by his father,  a story of a Eaton of Ireland , who was given land by a King for his service, went back to England to take his family back with him only to find his wife had passed and the mother in law refused to release the children and so he returned to Ireland, remarried and made a trip to Pennsylvania USA to find his family at the same time his children were there searching for him.
