My father was born on a farm located close to Ashroe House in Murroe. His family were tenants of the Evans family in 1851 (Griffith) an I located a vault outside Newport, County Tipperary where the Egan family were buried. My father was the last person buried there in 1944 and the vault was built around 1835 by my Great grandfather John Egan who died in 1835. The vault is located in an old cemetary outside Newport. I think it was named BallymacKeogh Cemetary.

I would like to hear from anyone who has researched the Egans of Murroe. I know that there were many Egans in the area of Abington and Bunkey but at the time of The Griffith valuation mapping there was only 1 Egan living at Ashroe in the Murroe Boher parish.
