Is there anyone out there who may be related or may be able to assist with further direction regarding my history?I'm an Aussie tracing the ancestry of my 3 GG father Edmund Fallon born 1817 or 1820 in Monivae (?), County Galway. I think his father was Michael. When I visited Ireland I drove around and found many references to Fallon, one notable one being a Fallon's pub. ;) I'd been told that Abbeyknockmoy was where one of his children was baptised. (I was too shy and time poor at the time to explore further.)
Edmund (Edward) married Mary Ann Gahagan (so many different spellings everywhere!) on 10 Dec 1849 in Athenry. I think the couple had Sarah before leaving for Australia in 1851. A daughter (Ellen Agincourt) was born in 1853, Honora in 1855 and my direct ancestor, Thomas Patrick was born in 1857 in Victoria, Australia.
I'm on Ancestry as d_lebhers, GEDmatch as A209416, on FTDNA B150107 and My Heritage. I'm on some Facebook sites as well. My DNA shows 29% Ireland, Scotland, Wales. I haven't found one Scottish or Welsh connection as yet.
Is there anyone out there who may be related or may be able to assist with further direction regarding my history?
Kind regards
Debra

Hi Debra
The Fallon name was still in Monivea in the 1850s but had died out by the time of the 1901 Cenus https://www.failteromhat.com/griffiths/galway/monivea.php
I admin the genealogy & DNA FB group for the local area and would welcome you to join https://www.facebook.com/groups/157581848116312/
