Thomas Fallon married Sarah Hallinan circa 1845. The children we know are Thomas b 1846, Margaret b 1855, and Belinda Fallon b 1858. Belinda married Patrick Callanan b 1845 in 1875. Margaret married Thomas Nilan. Thomas married Margaret Fallon b 1871. And yes, a Fallon married a Fallon and it doesn't make searching any easier! I have descendents for all three of the know children if anyone is looking. Does anyone know anymore about the eldest Thomas or Sarah Hallinan? Thank you in advance.

According to rootsireland, as you may know, Margaret was born 3 June 1855, bap. 10 June in RC parish of Peterswell. She lived in “Caphard” townland, Co. Galway. Parents: Thomas, Sarah Hallinan. Sponsors: Michael Hallinan, Catherine Fallon. I think this townland is probably the following: Cappard Demesne , Kilthomas Civil Parish, Barony of Loughrea, Co. Galway. I hope this helps.

In 1855 in Griffith’s Valuation, there were two Thomas Fallons in Kilthomas parish, one in Cappard Demesne:
• Fallon Thomas CAPPARD DEMESNE Kilthomas Co. Galway
• Fallon Thomas Newtownblake Kilthomas Co. GalwayThere were also three Hallinans in Kilthomas, in the townland of Gardenblake, just minutes away from Cappard. Thomas and Sarah were probably neighbors before their marriage.
• Hallinan John Gardenblake Kilthomas Galway
• Hallinan Michael Gardenblake Kilthomas Galway
• Hallinan Patrick Gardenblake Kilthomas GalwayFor more details, go to askaboutireland and choose Griffith’s Valuation.

Thank you Patricia!
A cousin who is searching the same tree found a map of the area and located the Fallon, Hallinan and Callinan homesteads and they were all basically neighbors so it's not surprising they were marriages within those families. Do you see anything on Thomas and Sarah Hallinan? Birth/death/marriage dates? Parents? Cathy
