Looking for information on George Dixon and Margaret Hull. Im grasping at straws as I am not sure what area they were from. They married approx 1872 and had a daughter Ellen Constance, who was later sent to England for education.

Hi,
Thank you for your message.
Did you know that Irish Genealogy have started a project to upload church records to their website free of charge? It is an ongoing project so only a small numbers of counties have been covered so far, fortunately, Dublin is one of them. Hopefully you should be able to find Margaret?s marriage or birth certificate in these records which will give you a more specific place of orign. You can search these here:
http://churchrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/
Also, as she was married in 1872 and civil registration began in 1864 you should be able to find their marriage certificate and possibly Ellen?s birth record in civil records. Civil records are available from the GRO in Dublin. Here is their website:
http://www.groireland.ie/research.htm
You can search the indexes to these records online at:
https://familysearch.org/search/collection/1408347
Have you tried looking for record of the family in Dublin in the 1901/1911 census records? These are available online here:http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/search/
Hopefully using a combination of these you should be able to find a place of orign and more information on George and Margaret.
Kind regards,
