Hi Watersp,
My Feeney's came over here to either Baltimore or Washington DC around 1866. There were three brothers: Patrick & his wife Catherine Clancy, Michael and his wife Nora Naughton, and we think a Thomas Feeney. There was a sister named Nora Feeney, and it states on her headstone she was a native of Moycullen. My cousin stated that his family line said they came over in 1866. I do not have any other information. I am not sure what year they were naturalised or have a record of their imgration from Ireland. I am not sure which port or boat they came in on.
Their parents back in Galway, in either Spiddal or Moycullen, were Tom Feeney and Julia O'Conor.
I am not sure our families are closely related but probably are related somehow. I believe that they are all related somehow, which this history is getting lost and really needs sorted out. Thanks for your message. If the guys over in Galway feel related to me please send me a message. I couldn't send you a private message.
