Hi - I am searching for decedants of Ferdinand Hannify and his wife Catherine Connelly. Ferdinand in Raford in 1895. He seems to have spent many years in this village.

Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!
The only Raford townland in Co. Galway is in Kiltullagh civil parish which is to the northwest of Loughrea. The 1901 census did not show the Hannifys in Raford. I did find a 1901 census record for a Thomas Hannify and family with a one year old son named Ferdinand http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1901/Galway/Raford/Gortahee…; They were living in Gortaheeran townland in Kiltullagh civil parish.I
I did find a Petty Sessions record for 1885 where Ferdinand was charged with being drunk in public.

I located the 1895 marriage record for Thomas Hannify and Bridget Fergus https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/marriage_re…; His father was shown as Fardy Hanniffy a deceased carpenter. Finally, I did locate Fardy's death record in 1895 and he was a widower

The online Irish phone book does not show aHanniffy listing near Loughrea/Kiltullagh.

By all accounts Ferdinand and Catherine are my Great Great Great Great Grandparents. (Maternal)
Their son John, was my great great grandmothers father.
John and Ellen’s daughter Mary (Hanify spelling change) married Thomas Nangle. Their Daughter, Esther, was my great grandmother.
Esther’s daughter Kathleen is my mother’s mother.
i have a bit of the family tree up on ancestry.com if you’re interested
