Hi I know my GGGrandfather Fergus Lee came from County Cavan and having searched all the records in both Ancestry and Find my Past websites think he lived in Mullymagowan. There are a number of records in the Ireland Court of Petty Sessions that include both a Fergus and Catherine Lee coming from Mullymagowan.
I recently purchased a Death Certificate from GRO Ireland for a Fergus Lee which lists his place of death as Corrohoo. The Death was registered in the District of Stradone in the Union of Cavan. I am trying to work out if this is my Fergus Lee and therefore need some help with the location of his death.
I can't find any modern reference to Corrohoo. I am wondering if it is just an different spelling for somewhere like Corraghoe, or whether there is a place called Corrohoo?
Any information in relation to this would be much appreciated.
Regards Cate

Cate:
Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!
There is no Corrahoo townland in Co. Cavan Likely the townland referred to on the death record is Corragho which is only six kilometers from Mullymagowan.

Thanks Roger,
I was thinking that might be the case, but wanted to run it by someone with a bit more local knowledge.

Hi Cate!
Fergus Lee and Catherine Reilly are also my great, great, great grandparents! We are actually currently living in Mallow, Ireland and are going to go through to Cavan this weekend just to see a bit more of where the family were originally from. It’s wonderful to be able to trace back through the years!
My line is through their daughter, Susan Lee who was my great, great grandmother. Her son, Hugh Lee was my great grandfather. Would be so lovely if they were all still alive to ask lots of questions!
Are you maybe on Facebook? Would you be able to try and look me up if you get this message even though it is so far on since your post? It’s Angela Lloyd-Evans or you can contact me on my email address: angie_stout2004@yahoo.co.uk
I googled their names and then your post came up!
Many thanks,
Angela
