i am trying to find any connection to Mary Bridgett Mahony ....Believed to have lived in Clonmel , County Tipperary . up until  1950 Mary had one child Kenneth on the 10th march 1950 , whom she brought to the UK <kenneth was registered in St Pancras which gave him a UK   passport .

Mary and Kenneth lived In Edgware , north London .from 1950-1952

Mary was a Hairdresser and part time assistant at the whittington hospital in Highgate , north london ...

in 1953 Mary Bridgett , Kenneths mother  Vanished ,it was believed she may have emigrated to the states ...but i am unable to find any records beyond 1952 .

There are a large number of Mahonys alive and well in clonmel ....But i have absolutely no knowledge as to where Mary Bridgett ( bridie ) fits into the family tree , if at all ?

Kenneth has !st cousins living in Clonmel Today :   Strange to tell Kenneth lived in Garrymore , in clonmel for many years , not knowing whom his relations actually were ...Fahey , jennings , Wharton , Anstey are all first cousins in Kenneths family tree ...

  • Hi I read your post with interest
My Mahony ancestors also came from Clonmel but I don't know your one. I haf a gggmother called Mary (née Hennessy). Her granddaughter was called Mary who married a John Ryan about 1915. Her sisters came to England and I don't know if she eventually came to but there were other Mahonys so could be a different line. Anyway I'd be interested in your line and will help if I can. I come from. Thomas and Kate. Daughters Ellie and Annie came to England about around 1912-14 as domestic servants

  • what i found so far :  Mary was born in 1931  , she travelled to north london in 1948-1955. Mary lived in edgware and highbury . Her best friend was hanora Sheedy , who was with her for a time in north london ,

    mary had tweve siblings .

There is a record in london , in Hendon , that seems to suggest Mary married Ken .i . Bradley ? .....not proven if that record is of the correct name ( there were at least three mary Mahony's in north london in 1952.

    nothing further to tell ...

  • Mary having twelve siblings could be a vital clue ?

thats eleven marriages , equalling 22 people , each having presumably two children ( or ten ?)   now that increases to at least 44 aunts /uncles / cousins ...where are they now ?

the latest news from the irish government and the catholic bishop might open a new avenue for me ... I resume my search today ...
