Dear All,

I would like to contact members of my deceased grandfather's family who hail from Fermoy, County Cork. My grandfather's name was Jeremiah Griffin and he was one of five siblings; Jack, Elizabeth, Cecilia Griffin and another sister whose name I can't recollect.

My grandfather left Ireland in the early 20th century, at the age of 17 years, when his father lost the tenancy of his farm in the area of Fermoy. His brother Jack and his sister Elizabeth also emigrated to England around the same time. One of the other sisters, Cecilia, I think, remained in Fermoy and married into the Coleman family.

My only contact with them was about 25 years ago when I was in Cork on business and I went to visit one of my mother's cousins, Eugene Coleman who lived at 10, Casement Row, Fermoy. Eugene had married Kathleen Walsh and they had four daughters named Catherine, Margaret, Rose and Sylvie.

Since then, we sadly lost contact and both my mother, Veronica Bryan (nee Griffin) and her cousin Eugene have since died. Unfortunately, I dont have any contact details of the surviving relatives of the Coleman or Walsh family.  I am visiting the area on holiday in June with my daughter, Natalie and would love to re-establish contact again with any one of the Coleman sisters that may still be alive or any other members of my extended family relatives.

I will be extremely grateful if anyone can help me locate my relatives?

Yours sincerely, Chris Bryan

I worked in the same place as Eugene for a good few years. As you gave your phone number I will give you a ring and will do what I can to help.

    Best wishes, Kieran
