Hello from the United States!
I am looking for my Fitzpatrick & Vicars families. Denis D Fitzpatrick, son of Denis Fitzpatrick and Julia Nolan, married Mary Anne Vicars and lived on a farm in Iry. I have found Denis & Mary Anne in the 1901 & 1911 census records. All but one child, Thomas, left Ireland for Austrailia or the United States I am not sure which church the family would have attended or where they may be buried. Any assistance would be wonderful. I would be forever grateful.
Thank you,
Nancy Kendall Kruse

Hi Nancy,
Thank you for your message. I hope that someone with information makes a connection with you.
In the meantime it may be an idea to contact the local parish office to see if they can give you information on what churches are in the area and which would have been the most likely church for your family to attend. Part of the parish falls into the Mountrath Catholic parish so here are their contact details:
http://www.kandle.ie/parishes/mountrath/
Also, here are two websites that allows you to search for graves online. There is a great database of Gravestones in CO. Laois available online thanks to Dr. Jane Lyons. Here is a link to the website:
http://www.from-ireland.net/free-gravestone-records/
You may also be able to find something on http://historicgraves.com/graveyards (It will be easier if you organise the list according to County.)
Please be patient - as our programme has only begun to rollout across the island of Ireland and volunteers in some areas may not yet be organized.
Kind regards,
