Looking for a marriage record of John Gallagher and Elizabeth Ohara betweeb 1840 and 1845 in Ireland. Their first child, John, was born in Ireland in 1845. Their second child, William, was born in Kelso, Scotland November 4, 1849, and baptised November 18, 1849 at St. Mary and St. David's Roman Catholic Church, Hawick, Scotland. (On the baptismal record for William, one of the witnesses is an Ellen O'Hara). By 1852, they moved to Hartlepool, Durham, England and had the rest of their children.

Do you know anything further regarding their emmigration that might give clues as to their place of origin in Ireland? Most Catholic records are held locally - so it is necessary to have some idea of their roriginal location. One site which might be of use is - http://www.irishtimes.com/ancestor/browse/ - where you can ?browse? an overview of available records per county. If you have any difficulty, you could try writing to the parish priest for possible assistance.
