Hello, I am searching for my biological 2nd Great Grandfather, last name Galloway. He was said to be the owner of Galloway Steel in 1870's. My Nana was named after him. Amy Gulliver is my 2nd Great Grandmother, born in 1873 in Yorkshire England. I found Galloway Steel in Downpatrick and the company director is a Galloway. I can't find a phone number for the company on Google. There is an incredible story attached to this and my Great Grandfather was always searching for his father. Can anyone help me?

  • Also, the name could have been Galloway Shipyard.

  • Heidi,

You say that Amy Gulliver was born in Yorkshire in 1873. I have had a look at the English birth records and there isn’t anyone named Gulliver born in Yorkshire that year. So what's your source for that? I think you need to give us a bit more information about your family. What birth, death and marriage information do you have and what are the sources.

It’s hard for us to advise you if the information provided isn’t accurate or complete.

What’s the connection between the Galloway family and Amy Gulliver? (I haven’t a clue from what you have told us so far).
