  • I have the census report from 1901 and 1911 from Gurtroe, Youghal.  The names are the same. Jeremiah, the father, would have been born in 1846 and lived until age 91. His wife marry would have also lived to age 91. She would have been born in  1885. My great grandfather, Thomas Geary, was born in 1822. Jeremiah Geary, the Father, may have been a nephew. He would have been a first cousin to my grandfather, John Richard Geary, born 1867 in Bethlehem, New York. The John Geary that died in 2008 at age 93 would have been born in 1915. He may have been a  great grandson of brother of Thomas Geary. All very interesting. Thank you for your help! Virginia

  • I reveiwed the census reports again:

1901: Mary, Head of family, age 70, Eliza, Daughter, age 33, Jeremiah, Son, age 30,

1911: Jeremiah, Head of family, age 65, Mary, Wife, age 26, Mary, Daughter, age 4, Eileen, Daughter, age 2 and Eliza, Daughter, age 1.

The Jeremiah Geary that died Oct 27th, 1937 may have been the Son from the 1901 census. He may have married a women named Mary.

But, it is also possible that the Jeremiah Geary from the 1911 census is the one who died in 1937. Mary was onlyy 26 in 1911 and could have had children as late as 1937 when Ina Geary died (no age listed, may have been a newborn since Ann's age was listed as 8 weeks when she died in 1926).
