Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!
You don't mention whether your ancestors were Roman Catholic or Church of Ireland (or another denomination). I searched on the subscription site Roots Ireland and did not find any records for your family. No McFadden baptismal records with father George and no George McFadden marriage record. The earliest McFadden baptismal record was in 1882. Likely your McFaddens were baptized in a church that no longer has records back to the pre-1840 period.
I also checked the Tithe listings from the 1820s/1830s and did not see a McFadden record.
Let us know if you have any additional information.

I'm wondering however if your records have more info then Ancestry.com
the earliest record i have is James (possibly) McFadden born in Ireland in 1765. His only son James was born in 1795. no marriage or mother noted. The father passed away in 1824 in Grange O'Neilan,Co. Armagh. The son James apparently landed in Ontario in 1832.
The son James was married to Jane Flemming (or Fraser) born 1796 in Ireland. They were married in Kircubbin, Down NI Nov 14,1818. Their son George was born 1834 in Wicklow, Wicklow. their daughter Elisabeth was born Oct 28, 1842 in Canada.
I wonder if there are additional records for these three individuals and any of their ancestors available in Ireland?
Many thanks for your help

I did not find the 1818 marriage record. You mentioned that James McFadden landed in Ontario in 1832 but later mentioned that his son George was born in 1834 in Wicklow?
The only George McFadden baptismal record I located anywhere in Ireland is the 1827 record below. The mother was Jane Brookan. Was your James McFadden a smith?

thanks Roger...not sure that is the same George McFadden. What I can gather from the records is that James came to Canada first, and his wife Jane Flemming (possibly Fraser) came to Canada sometime after, possibly with son George, via New York in 1850.
Thanks for looking!
