Hi all,

I'm new to this...I have been researching and found Gerald, a hairdresser from Townsend Street, was married to Bridget Weldon.(my great grandparents) I have some of their children listed as John, James, Gerald, Jane (who has her father on her birth certificate listed as David although I can't find David as a sibling to Gerald. Bridget is still listed as the mother), Thomas Patrick, John Joseph, Thomas, Christina, Hannah, Kathleen, Ellen and John. Ellen and John were born 10 years after the others, so I suspect they may have a different father. They may have a different mother for all I know, but since they were born in 1924, I'm unsure of how to find birth records. Ellen is my grandmother, so I'd love to get to the bottom of this mystery to see who I am really related to!

There may be a few more, I don't know yet and I'm not sure if they all share Gerald as the father. I would love to find out more.

I'm also looking for Gerald's siblings. His parents were John Mooney, also a hairdresser and Hannah Quinn. Gerald served in the Leinster and WW1. I don't have a death record for him.

If anyone has any information about ANY of these people, I would be eternally grateful.  :)

Peter.

  • Miriam, Hello,

    you are a darling gem!

Thank you for the siblings of Gerald. I didn't know about John. There has to be some more somewhere...I will continue the search.

I have the 1901 Census with Gerald living alone. Thank you. I cannot find Bridget living anywhere, although I don't think I have searched for Bridget MOONEY.

Yes, the first John, 1900 died later that year.

I have ordered Ellen's certificate, thank you.

As for Gerald's death record, I followed the link but couldn't figure out how to access the information. :(

I found Bridget's death record! Thank you so much!

And yes, I knew about her father's two different names that are recorded on two different documents.

I have found the family tree on ancestry and discovering a wealth of information, although there are a lot of sources that haven't been uploaded, so I'm adding that into my list of things to research.

    You are truly wonderful.

    :)

  • Thanks Miriam.

My irishgenealogy.ie link hasn't been working the past day or so, so when it allows me to log back in, I will continue searching.

Thank you for all your help!
