My husband's great grandmother, Bridget Gibbons was born in 1866 in Ireland to Catherine Naughton and Austin Gibbons.
Bridget reportedly arrived in NYC in 1882.
I have no other information regarding the family's time in Ireland, or where specifically they were from. I would appreciate any info or leads anyone could provide.
Thank you.

This may not be them, but their is an Austin and Catherine Gibbons living in Louisburgh in 1901

In 1911, Catherine is a widow, it says she had 7 children and 6 living

There are also Naughtons living in Aillmore (though a different village) in 1901

There are many Austin Gibbons in Mayo in Griffiths in 1850's, before Bridget was born. (Kilgeever would be the area if you wanted to compare to the above links

Here is another link that might be worth looking through - Kilgeever Parish Records

Wow! Thank you so much for all of that helpful information. I dug into those census records a bit and while I do not think they are the folks I'm looking for, I did stumble upon a possible lead. I poked around a bit on familysearch.org and found birth records for about 6 Gibbons children (including a William & John, as in the census) born in Louisburgh to Austin Gibbons and Catherine Malley. I suspect that is the family in the census. That said, I also found a record of a Catherine Gibbons born to Austin Gibbons & Catherine Naughton in Cappaduff, Mayo, Ireland. Possibly a sister to Bridget? That said, I cannot find a listing for Cappaduff in modern County Mayo - only in Claire and Westmeath.
I'll continue to investigate using those sources you've suggested.
Thank you!
