Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!
I'm having a difficult time finding any connections for your family. Is it possible the father was John Gibney rather than Thomas Gibney. I located two baptismal records for John Gibney and Bridget Gibney where the parents were John Gibney and Anne Smith. They lived in Co. Cavan near the Co. Longford border. See links nbelow.

fifth record John https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/birth_returns/births_1874/03124/2145639.pdf
second record Bridget https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/birth_returns/births_1868/03418/2253864.pdf

Thank you so much.I wondered if Thomas was incorrect. It is on Eliza's death certificate but that also states she was born in Cavan. Elsewhere it states Abbeyland Longford. Must have been difficult for an Irishman in Australia to be understood. I was always told that Eliza is a 1st cousin of Archbishop Gibney and he was born in Kilashandra(sp).

Abbeyland could be Abbeylara which is a village and civil parish in Longford very close to the Cavan border https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abbeylara

I did a search on the subscription site Roots Ireland in Co. Cavan and found six baptismal records for children of John Gibney and Anne Smith: Eugene 1859 Catherine 1863 Margaret 1866 Bridget 1868 Patrick 1871 John 1874 So no Maria or Eliza which makes me want to be somewhat cautious that this is the correct family.
Anne Gibney died in 1887 third record https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/deaths_returns/deaths_1887/06204/4774493.pdf
father John in 1901 http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1901/Cavan/Kilcogy/Cloncovet/1050329/
Did not find John's death record but presumably hed died before 1911.

I'm glad I kept searching. I think the issue is that in the Irish records the surname was McGivney instead of Gibney.
See the second record on this page which has the 1885 marriage of Bridget McGivney to John Lennon. Bridget was living in Creevy and her father was Thomas. She was listed as 30 but likely older.
The baptismal records for Abbeylara parish start in July 1854 https://registers.nli.ie/parishes/0139 so when I searched on the subscription site Roots Ireland, I located three records for children of Thomas McGivney and Anne Smyth: Elizabeth 1855 Ann 1857 Thomas 1860 Bridget and the other children you mentioned must have been born before July 1854.
So ignore the John Gibney/Ann Smith information. I think we have the correct family now.

Here is the 1892 marriage record for William Reilly and Maria McGivney https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/marriage_returns/marriages_1892/10653/5881253.pdf
They lived in Drumnacross 1901 census http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1901/Longford/Currygrane/Drumnacross/1548548/
1911 census shows Maria as much older 56 but William is not there but she shows married http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1911/Longford/Currygrane/Drumnacross/582304/

Roger thank you so much. I can't believe what you've found. I just checked Eliza's marriage certificate. Father is definitely Thomas and place of birth is Abbeylara. She was born in 1866 or 1867 and I'm sure by 1912 her father had died because the will only mentions Anne, Bridget, Anne and John. I will check the records you have sent. I really appreciate your help. Waving from Perth Western Australia.

Roger I think you are right about McGivney. I think I've found John living with his mother in Creevy I've searched for Gibney for ages and never found anything. So I think this must be them
