    Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!

The subscription site Roots Ireland has baptismal records for three older siblings to William in the Ballindrait Presbyterian church-- Sarah 1828 Eliza 1831 Andrew 1834 I did not find the mariage record. Roots Ireland does not have marriage records for Ballindrait Presbyterian church. I also did not find a marriage record for the younger William Gordon and Eliza Chambers. Did they marry in Ireland?

The 1857 Griffiths Valuation for Clonleigh civil parish shows a few Gordon records but no William. Was the father deceased or had they left the parish?

FYI. One set of my great-great grandparents (Brennan) came from Clonleigh parish.

  • Roger, thank you so much for that information.   William Gordon and Eliza Chambers married in Iowa, USA.  They are my 3rd great grandparents.  I should have specified William Gordon, Jr. and William Gordon, Sr.   I've hit the wall on William Gordon, Sr.  On the bright side, two years ago I didn't know a think about William Gordon and Eliza Chambers.  Had no idea my ancestors came from Ireland.  I so appreicate you sending this to me and will check out the Griffins Value link.

  • Rogers,   OOPS, Didn't answer the lasts question:  Wm. Gordon Sr. also emmagrated from Ireland to Iowa, USA. (I believe in 1885 or 1886).   Do you know of any graveyard info in Clonleigh?  I appreicate the informaiton.  Clearly you are more knowledgeable regarding Irish Geneaology Research -- I'll take all the help I can get. ;).
