My great grandmother Catherine Grahem traveled to the US with her mother, Bridget Solinger (St. Ledger) and a sister, Mary Graham about 1850. We have been give the name of Conrad Graham as her father, who may have died in Ireland. We were told they were from Robeen in Mayo. There may also be a younger brother Thomas.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Robeen is a civil parish in South Mayo. You don't mention the religious denomination of the Grahams. If they were Roman Catholic, records start in 1857 and for the Church of Ireland, I don't see any records on the subscription site Roots Ireland.

I also looked at the 1855 Griffiths Valuation head of household listing for Robeen civil parish and I don't see any Grahams listed. ( I was looking for possible relatives of Conrad).

Civil registration of deaths did not begin until 1864.

Have you considered DNA testing? You may have matches with Graham connections.

  • Roger,

    Thank you for your reply.

The Grahams were Catholic, so I presumed that not many recorrrds exist. The whole Mayo connection is word of mouth, not proven.

I ahve done DNA, just need to upload it.

    Thanks again.
