I've been reading your latest report about the Diaspora and see that Cameo Wood, who is in Galway for it, has a great grandfather who was gardener at Coole.  I'd love to contact her.  Have you any idea how?  My family were attached to Lady Gregory and I even have a biography on her which I picked up in a second hand book store in Wellington 30 odd years ago.  I haven't kept Sr de Lourdes' address.

  • Dear Anne,

Have you heard from Cameo Wood recently? I somehow feel that her ancestor was gardener in Coole at an earlier date than your ancestor. Could you remind me again of the name  of your gardener ancestor? There were three families of Curley in Ballyaneen and now there are none. Have you considered coming to the Week of Welcomes, 24th to 30th June 2012? Those who came last year absolutely loved it. I had a group of third cousins who visited me a few weeks ago from Christchurch and they were so enthusiastic about it that their brother and his wife are coming for the Week of Welcomes in June.

    We'll keep in touch.

    All the best,

    de Lourdes (Sr.)
