My great grandfather(Michael Burke) was born in Annaghdown parish, townland Gardenham in 1854. His parents were Peter and Mary Burke nee Loftus. I would be interested in finding out more information. Thank you James Burke

    The Mormon Church has microfilmed the RC church records for the church in Annaghdown. Records go back to 1834. You can order the film online at www.familysearch.org and review the film at a local Mormon Family History Center. I'm sure there is one in Atlanta.

    I checked the 1901 census and there were no Burkes in Gardenham although there are Burkes in the surrounding area. www.census.nationalarchives.ie 

    I assume Michael emigrated to America in the 1870s.

    I'm researching my great grand parents Michael Killgarriff, from Gardenham and Arcgaineen.

    Does this mean the Mormon Church went into the RC churches and got permission to copy the physical records in the Churches ?,
