Green - McCloskey

I searched on the subscription site Roots Ireland and did not locate the Daniel Green/Ellen McCloskey marriage. I also did not find the baptismal record for Patrick. There are two parishes in Athlone- St. Peter's on the Roscommon side and St. Mary's on the Westmeath side. Both parishes have records that go back to the late 1700s (St. Peter's) or 1813 for St. Mary's. Many immigrants listed their home place as the nearest big town and I'm wondering if the Greens were from a parish bordering Athlone and that parish has records which start after they left Ireland.

If you haven't already, you may want to consider DNA testing/ Possibly you will have matches on the Green/McCloskey line.

I have taken a dna test and alomg with my siblings tests we are on Ancestry, Myheritage, and 23andme.

I am currently working with an individual who matches along these lines AND her family stayed in Ireland.

If I can get info on her family I will come back.
