Looking for any relatives of Patrick Hannon of Kilmilhil Co Clare who immigrated to Victoria Australia in 1850's. He married Mary Reardon in Australia and she also was from Co Clare.

Patrick Hannon's father was Sinon Hannon ( Hanneen) who married Bridget O'Brien.

  • Pauline,

The baptism records for the RC parish of Kilmilhil begin in 1849. The only record I found with Sinon Hannon as the father is this one:

Bridget Hannon, 3 Jan 1868, parents - Sinon Hannon & Winifred Melican, residence - Lisnaligane, sponsors - Michael Hannon & Bridget Hannon.

    Regards,

  • Pauline,

Attached record of a Simon Haneen in Kilmihil Village which was printed in 1855. He is leasing a House and 31 acres of land. No. 36 on sheet.

Tithe Records 1823 - 1837 gives an account of the surname in the adjoining parish of Killofin Kilmurray McMahon.

The 1901 Irish census may be of assistance.

     Regards,

  • Pauline ,

Attached record of the 1901 Irish Cenus for a Sinon Hannon. Possible relation to your Patrick?

    Pauline,

Attached is Ellen Hannon's civil birth record. You'll see it is the same town land as Bridget, the only difference is her mother's surname - Lillis, not Melican. Don't know if one of them is an error as the first name is the same. In any case, these two are perhaps some relation to your Patrick Hannon, but since he emigrated in the 1850's, they are not his siblings.

    Regards,

  • Pauline,

In regard to the Post by Carolyn, Simon Haneen is leasing the house and land from a John Lillis! Possible connection.
