The 1849 Massachusetts marriage record for my great-great grandfather, Timothy Hannon, states that his parents were Daniel and Mary. My search of records (mostly RootsIreland) locates only one Daniel and Mary (McDonnell) who fit the location and timeframe. Numerous sources suggest Timothy was born around 1821. This Daniel and Mary were from Doneraile who apparently had at least two sons and a daughter. However, none of Daniel and Mary's children were named Timothy! The only Timothy I can find that fits the timeframe is a son of William Hannan and Catherine Heffernan born in July 1820. This Timothy was born at Barrack Buttevant, virtually next door to Doneraile. I've considered whether tragedy may have struck William and Catherine such that Timothy may have been raised by Daniel and Mary. I have not even able to find any death record to substantiate this theory. Any information about Hannons, HannAns, McDonnells or Heffernans from the around this time and the Doneraile/Buttevant region would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
