Heaney Thomas Snr, and Heaney Thomas Jnr

Ok, OK (I'm new here, so here goes this oddball)

Thomas Heaney was born in the early 1800's between 1800 and1830, possibly in Longford.

He moved, i'm pretty certain to Glasgow. where his son Thomas Heaney was born. St Andrews church (the cathedral) in October 1846, of unmarried parents.

Both return to Ireland at some point, where the son joins the Irish police, serving 1867-1872. See, the dates fit (about).

He looks to be signed up under Sub Inspector Kitson (spelling may be wrong) in Wicklow.

He leaves the force in 1872 to come to England, and joins the Staffordshire police. In 1878 Junior marries Lisetta, but on the marriage cert Thomas Heaney is recorded as "deceased".

Can anyone link up a bit more info? I have both his police records
