I am researching my ancestors John Holland (born 1826) and Catherine Sullivan (born 1841) who stated in the 1871 Wales Census that they were born in County Cork. It looked to me like it said Sambary, or Saint something, but I can't find any place in Cork with a name like that. They were married in Drimoleague in 1861.
I was hoping someone could decipher the handwriting (see attached) or knows of a place with that name, or I know sometimes placenames have changed over the years.
Thank you, Kerry

Kerry:
I can't determine the entry on the Wales census. John Holland and Catherine Sullivan had a daughter Ellen in 1864 in Ireland which is the year that civil registration started. The record is below. See last record on the page. Townland is Gurrane which I believe is Garranes in Dromdaleague civil parish.
