Hello everyone,
Normally I can decipher old handwriting the course of my research but this time I am really struggling... can anyone shed light on the attached extract? I think I can make out:
"Conjuncti in Matm. [forename?] Doodakan Fili Jacobi [surname?] [May?] et [forename?] Gillvaney Fil. [Augonis?] [surname?] Presentibius [forename?] Doodakan et Martin[?] Gillvaney". Neither of the father's surnames appear to match the surname of the husband and wife. I understanding that:
conjuncti in matm = conjoined in matrimony
fili = child of
presentibius = in the presence of / witnesses
Thanks for any help...! If relevant, the above is from Ahamlish RC parish records in Sligo.

I went to the subscription site Roots Ireland to see how they translated the record. They show a marriage of Thady Doodikan and Anne Gillvarry. Father of Thady was James and father of Anne was Hugh. Witnesses were James Doodian and Martin Gillvarry.
