My great great grandmother Sarah Hoctor was baptised in Lorrha in 1836 her father was John Hoctor and her mother was Mary Molloy. I am interested in any information prior to 1836 and also if there are any family links still in the parish today

  • Great info to read on!Occasionally, all it takes is just a little concealed cash to serve as the monkey wrench that ruins a happy marriage. Personal property that is not shared in a relationship isn't really a trouble sign in and of itself, but when huge amounts of cash start to disappear, you need to take notice. Here are a few things experts advise you to look at if you believe that your wife is hiding cash. Figure out what your spouse is doing with a personal finance.

  • Hello, my name is Peter Fitzsimmons from the Queensland Gold Coast in Australia. My great grandfather – Thomas Fitzsimons/Fitzsimmons – born in 1833 to Thomas Fitzsimmons and Margaret Hoctor in Lorrha, Co. Tipperary. However in the record of his Baptism, his surname is spelled ‘Fitsimmons’. The papers we have show that great grandfather Thomas was a farmer in Tipperary. We cannot find out anything much about the Fitzsimons/Fitzsimmons family in Lorrha but hopefully Margaret Hoctor may have been related to your Hoctors? I would surmise that, in 1833, there would not have been that many Hoctors in Lorrha?.Would be thrilled to hear from you if you just happen to be able to cast some light on the Fitzsimons & Hoctor families?

Please see entry in the Lorrha Dorrha notes! Kindest regards Peter

  • Hi Peter

You may have this but attached is a copy of the 1901 census which I managed to download when I was looking for my ancestors, the Walkins at Sharragh in Tipperary, I thought it was the Walkins one but it seems not.  I dont know if it is any of your family.
